Weekend Reading

I've been hearing from a lot of Liberals that they don't know enough about Dominic LeBlanc. Fair enough. Hopefully some of those questions will be answered by his upcoming campaign and website launches. Until then, Maclean's has done a nice little bio piece on him. It may not be long on policy proposals, but it does give you some insight into the substance of the man.

The substance seems to be that he knows scads of Liberal insiders. I trust your judgment to some extent but I'm not getting what makes him a potential leader for your party or our country.

Andy, I don't expect this article to make up anyone's mind. I just think it is important to start filling the information gap on LeBlanc. What I think the article does point to is the fact that just because he's relatively young doesn't mean he's inexperienced. I think that it is important that the next leader of the Liberal party understand both how Ottawa works and how the people of this country think. The article provides some insight into M. LeBlanc's abilities on both counts. I'll make a more substantive case as time goes on. Hopefully, you won't have to trust anyone's judgment but your own.
